Should It Stay or Should it Go?

I’ve been doing a lot of presenting lately. Last year I did a presentation called, “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” which was all about deciding whether or not to sell a home and relocate, or stay in one’s current abode and dwell well. Then, last month I presented “Should It Stay or Should It Go?” which was all about stuff and whether or not to keep it or get rid of it.
I wanted to share one of my favorite thoughts from my slide deck with that audience which I titled, Is This a Friend or an Acquaintance?

What do I mean by that question?
Well, most of us in northern New Jersey have homes full of things, many household items. Many times when people are trying to declutter, they struggle with the letting go part. One of my suggestions is to look at the volume of your home contents and decide which things do you consider your friends (favorites) and which things have not tipped the emotional connection for you (acquaintances).
Once that is determined, keep only those friendly items which pull on your heartstrings and let the others go…
