Moving Mom (Again) for the New Year and Beyond
Seven years ago you might have remembered reading my ezine or blog that spoke about when POSSE relocated my mom from Florida to a 55+ community at the NJ Shore. Now, I’m sharing again her next move from that condo to an apartment in a senior living community literally down the block from my home.
My mother is 81 and has a lot of physical limitations but still wants to be independent. So mid-December we settled on a building that has both independent living and assisted living. Hopefully, she will be able to stay independent but should she need to switch over to assisted, it’s an option.
This transition has truly eased the stress and burden of her safety (and my sanity) to be able to get to her quickly in an emergency situation which happens now and again more frequently. No more long commutes up and down the Garden State Parkway. Amen.
