Love Your Calendar First

This month I’m writing about how important it is to set yourself up for both personal and professional happiness and productivity just in case you didn’t solidify your 2026 goals and intentions at the beginning of the New Year.
The trick is to decide what you want to do with your life over the next 365 days, then schedule it on your calendar, turning your wishes into commitments.
I will give you two examples from my own life; one personal and one professional…
Professional Goal: Create a Mastermind Group

This has always been a fantastic tool for me to catapult my business. I decided to start one. This is actually my third mastermind group in 20 years. Then, I blocked out 27 Mondays in 2026 so I could host them bi-weekly on Monday mornings. Then, I promoted the idea, held a strategy meeting with my partner, and poof! It’s happening… POSSEPartnersllc.com/power-circle
Personal Goal: Learn to Speak Spanish
Truth be told, I started this goal last year because I have an intention of visiting one of my best friends in Lima, Peru (I’m not sure when yet) and I want to be able to speak his native language while I visit. But this year I have a more concrete plan. I’m using Duolingo every morning as part of my Power Hour. Here’s a past article if you want to understand my Power Hour better.
I’ve also commited myself to using one direction of my daily commute to work to listen to the podcast ‘Immersive Spanish’ on Spotify. You won’t see this on my calendar because it’s built into my schedule by heart.
Additionally in the past, I’ve mentioned the well-known S.M.A.R.T. concept in previous ezines for hardcore goal enthusiasts. Here is my version of the form if you’d like to use it. You can take what you say you want to do and “calendar” the concepts.
When you follow my lead time blocking your goals, here’s what happens…
- You look forward to your life
- You are securing your way to what you want to do
- You get things done
